July 5, 2008 by bloggerbeckyThree blonde friends died together in a car wreck. They found themselves standing in front of the pearly gates with St. Peter. He told them that before they could enter heaven, they had to tell him what Easter was about.
The first blonde said, “Easter is a big holiday where we give thanks, have a big feast and eat turkey.”
“Nooooo,” said St. Peter. “You don’t get in.”
The second blonde said, “Easter is the holiday that we celebrate Jesus’ being born of the virgin and give gifts to each other.”
“Nooooo,” said St. Peter. “You don’t get in, either.”
The third blonde said, “Well, I know what Easter is all about. Easter is a Christian holiday which coincides with the Jewish Passover. After Jesus celebrated Passover with His disciples, He was betrayed by Judas and turned over to the Romans. They crucified Him on a cross. After He died, they buried him in a tomb and put a huge boulder in front of it.”
“Very good!” said St. Peter.
The blonde continued. “Now, every year, the Jews roll the stone away and Jesus comes out. If He sees his shadow, we have 6 more weeks of basketball.”
St. Peter fainted!
July 4th family gathering at Mt. Cheaha
July 5, 2008 by bloggerbeckyAll today spent July 4th at Mt. Cheaha state park close to Oxford, Alabama. My family rented one of those stone pavilions for the day, and we had our own private place to gather. It was really nice, we had our own restrooms as well as area to park, lounge, etc. The other pavilions were situated next to us, needless to say were not so lucky they had to walk or drive over to our pavilion to use our facilities.
Today was in the 90s, but it wasn’t so bad. The wind blew through the pavilion so it made things cool. We bought barbque from Dad’s Barbque a local restaurant well known for the best barbque in Anniston. They have something for everyone including ribs, barbque sandwiches, pork, beef, chicken, etc.. They even have wonderful pies too. Later on in the day everyone went out to view the sights, including the tower and ledges, etc.
Tonight after eating more barbque, we all went back to the hotel and gathered around to chit chat. Afterwards went to get to our car and there was a kitten that found his way up in the engine. So we had to find a way to get him out. Successfully got him/her out, but he/she ran away before we could catch him. 
Then we saw some professional fireworks being presented..beautiful show ! Went home, now I’m tired.
Waterloo Band loved my pictures of the show
June 30, 2008 by bloggerbeckyJune 7th, 2008 I saw ABBA: The Show a musical tour performed by the coverband group Waterloo Band. Only a few surviving members of the actual ABBA group were there to perform. So days later I uploaded pictures I took during the show on my Myspace website. Today I got a comment from someone who owns their Myspace profile that they saw all the pictures of I took of them. All I can say is WOW !!! I was happy they saw my pictures of them and took the time to comment. 
Spore Creatures for the DS
June 26, 2008 by bloggerbeckyI reserved my copy of Spore Creatures for the DS lite today at my local Gamestop. It has a slightly different play than the PC version will be meaning it will focus on the creatures. So now wait in anticipation for the next two months until I get my hands on it. I also reserved another game for the DS as well. Final Fantasy IV. I then bought Final Fantasy Tactics A2, because while I was on a Final Fantasy shopping spree why not by another game in the series… Both already have 5 star ratings so I am hoping it will be sweet.
You know how sometimes when you purchase a game that you think will be sooooo cool you just can’t wait to get it home and play ? Well sometimes those games can turn out to be terrible graphics / story / gameplay wise. I just hope this won’t turn out to be like that. But I already made the purchase and I’m sticking to it. If by chance I don’t like any of the games, of course I can always trade them in for other games at Gamestop. I suppose it’s the buyer’s remorse thing kicking in, I will just have to wait and see what happens.
Spore
June 21, 2008 by bloggerbeckySpore will be releasing in September for the PC, Mac, and DS lite.. Spore is also going to be on other platforms besides PC and handheld consoles. Supposidly it will be released later to the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii.
Spore is another God game where you create your own creatures for your own planets and you watch them grow into civilizations into the future.
Gotta luv the God games !
My fav. God games so far are: The Sims 2, Sim City 4, Black & White 1,2, and at somepoint later Spore.

| I decided to give Walmart.com’s music downloads for a try. I used a gift card worth $25, spent it all on songs from Neil Diamond, ZZ Top, Tears For Fears, Tiffany, Duran Duran, Christmas music, and the rest was mostly 80s as you can guess. The downloads you purchase range from $0.94 on up depending on if you’re purchasing singles or albums. Wal-Mart has a good selection of music but they do not have everything. They just had enough for my tastes. The best thing about it is, it’s all legal, and for $0.94 per song it’s a good deal. |
